October14 sunny and brisk; not like Buffalo! So was it cold in Toronto and vicinity last night?

The mist on the river was beautiful. I kept
looking to see if George W. and his paddlers would emerge. I even asked a few large rocks if they were around when Washington was chopping down cherry trees and not telling lies.

The house is where the the mooners live!

We have bypassed New York and Allentown to settle in Maryland near Baltimore so that we can go into Washington, DC. There are too many attractions to see—Mt. Vernon—Washington’s home; the Lincoln Memorial; the theatre where he was shot; the Washington monument; the White House and have a cuppa jolt cola with the boss; the Pentagon; Arlington Cemetary and the eternal flame on JFK’s grave; the capitol building; the Mall and the reflecting pools. It is not fair. Some of these should be decentralized to poorer cities to add to the revenues! The Potomac River is a stone’s throw away.

New England, the flavor of bittersweet memories is reflected in the names of the many small towns that have received names of their British cousins—at least two Bath towns and each in a different state. We passed by Nazareth and Bethlehem today.

The mh flew along when it could as we were on highways where one goes zoom zoom and there are two to five lanes going your way. Not many pictures today except in my mind—stately stone houses, farms that had acres and acres of corn still on the stalks, flea markets, garage sales.

Washington at night would be tremendous but we would have to spend 4 days here to book the tour and time is running out.

So see if you can find George in any of the pictures? Gerry, there is a picture for you.

Cheers
