November 3 and still in North Little Rock. We saw the Arkansas River as we sat up high in the tow truck as we were delivered to the Ford dealership who said that they could do the job today. The starter has been hinting that it was tired and it finally fully retired this morning. Marg has RV coverage and so the tow was free.

Did I tell you about the huge bill boards that are along this highway. They are tall round hunks of steel pipe and they have a catwalk around them to make it easy to change. They reach above the trees so that we travelers can see them as we speed by. Within twenty mile of crossing the boarder into Arkansas, I picked up 3 such billboards for Adult Rated or Triple X adult videos. The tow truck driver said that when he was growing up his father moved the family rather than have his kids go to school with black kids. The driver was about my age. How young you ask?

Marg has purchased a new TomTom GPS and so it is likely we will make it home some time.

Yes, Pats you are correct on the Martin Luther King assassin and damn I’ve put it out of my mind. It just came back, James Earle Ray.

We are listening to the Grand Ole Opry as it is Friday night and Little Jimmy Dickens is singing. Do a search for GOO radio. Then choose live broadcast on the right. Friday at 8:00 pm Nashville time, two hours ahead of BC. Here comes a commercial—Martha White Muffin mix the previous half hour was Cracker Barrel, a restaurant.

Tim, you will be glad to know that you and Elvis had something in common besides good looks. Elvis had two blackbelts. Of course he a blue one, a silver one, too. No, I am being serious. He started his training in the army.

We are heading to Oklahoma to get our kicks on Route 66. Much of the road has disappeared and the bridges are in such disrepair that they are no longer functional. An American author, wrote a book, and the migrants in the story used this highway to make their way to California in the 20’s and 30’s. Can you name the book and or the author. Oh, yes, it became a movie with the male star of On Golden Pond.

Guess what the people of Nashville call the building: The __________ building.

Cheers; and I will just add in a few pics, but not from today.
